In actual fact, Feng Shui is a practice that will help you design your environment so that it brings out the best in your world.
The concept of Feng shui, uses the five element system, which comes from Taoist philosophy. This system looks at the cycles of nature and how they work together to be in balance. The five elements are earth, metal, water, wood, and fire. Each element is associated with certain qualities, as well as colours and shapes. You can use these elements or colours as design elements to enhance those qualities in your working and home life.
To apply these principles in your work place, one of the key rules is to remove clutter and ensure that your desks face entrances. Clearly, there are several rules regarding the placement of furniture and plants. However, in my opinion, we can also apply Feng Shui practice to leadership and team alignment.
Actually, Western geomancy takes all types of geopathic stress into consideration when creating healthy and happy homes and lifestyles. The term ‘geopathic stress’ describes negative energies, which emanate from the earth and cause discomfort and ill health to people living above.
Geomancers believe the surface of the earth weaves a pattern of etheric threads, similar to the acupuncture meridians of the human body. These are responsible for the health and growth of the natural kingdoms of the landscape. Moreover, and any interruption to their strength and harmonious flow has profound effects upon the health of the local natural life.
In the field of NLP, we apply the prinicple that we operate in a holographic universe. As a result, we think it’s important to understand energy flow, both inside our mind, our bodies and our environment.
In summary, I believe we should take into account the concepts of Feng Shui and energetic alignment in all aspects of physical and mental wellbeing.
